Thankfully the temperature in the UK has dropped today from 33 degrees yesterday to a more manageable 26 degrees but I know a heatwave is still raging across Europe. It’s hard to dress professionally in Summer never mind when it’s a heatwave too but I have some ideas.

The best thing to do is always stick to natural fabrics where you can. Cotton & linen especially will keep you cool and the quality of the fabric looks polished. If you’re someone who has the kind of job where you are meeting clients, hosting round table discussions, or presenting then it’s still important to look put-together even when the weather is unbearably hot.

So here are outfits I recommend that have polish, style and work well for Summer months in the office.

Linen jumpsuit

Whistles have a few linen jumpsuit. I like this neutral one that can be dressed up with accessories

OK I admit, I featured this Me&Em shorts and blazer set on my last blog too but it is SO GOOD! In fact, isn’t it a good thing that I have featured it for both a Summer event (Wimbledon) and work too! Great cost-per-wear. Very striking and stylish.

A shirt dress is an excellent choice - the collar looks professional and it’s just ‘one-and-done’ so easy in the mornings. I love this palm green dress by Sezane. They have lots of different colour ways and patterns if green is;t your thing.

A great all year round option is a wide leg trouser. These are modern, comfortable, stylish AND leg lengthening all in one! These are the ‘Summer Chocolate’ trousers at Me&Em. They have lots of really beautifully tailored trousers to choose from.

I think it would be cool to pair the above trousers with a more stylish blouse like this one by Sessun. To keep the look professional but not too dull and ‘officy’ at the same time.

I also like this shirt from Sezane, it’s smart but because of the lace it’s also feminine and non-boring. This blue would look nice with the Summer Chocolate trousers above AND the red shorts set above too.

This is a great orange cotton dress that would work well for the office in a hot summer. This is by The Fold who specialise in workwear for executives and corporate people.

Stripes look ‘business’ and I like this one from Claudie Pierlot

Finally, some crochet shoes. These are all the rage as I type this in Summer ‘25. They are cool on both ways with the built in air holes! These are by Rouje and currently on sale but you can find all colours everywhere right now.

I hope this gave you some Summer workwear inspiration. For more tips, listen to my podcast ‘The Style Stories Podcast.’ You can listen here on iTunes or anywhere you get your podcast.
