I FEEL THE NEED, THE NEED FOR TWEED!
Or Boucle, boucle or tweed are the order of the day and especially in jacket form. Chanel inspired, classy and polished, these jackets are EVERYWHERE this season and long may it continue.
As someone who has never been a classic dresser, I am finding myself more drawn to smarter pieces as I get older. I just feel differently about how I want to get dressed and it’s smarter. I don’t want to look super trendy but I DO want to look up-to-date and a boucle or tweed jacket can help to acheive that.
The cool kids are wearing theirs with 90’s denim and chunky jewellry, I’ve used this image on my blog before from Harpers Bazaar. I love how sexy she’s made this jacket look in this outfit.
This trend for boucle or tweed cropped jackets has come back from the 90’s. There is a huge 90’s trend going on right now, particularly with minimalism and slip dresses. There’s also a Y2K revival happening but the noughties were more known for Athleisure and I don’t want to be catapulted back into pandemic dressing.
I want smarter more polished outfits but I still want to feel casual so pairing a jacket like this with jeans is outfit perfection for me.
These also look good in a workplace with smart trousers.
Whether you want to wear yours in a casual way or more polished these jackets bring an outfit together and are totally trending right now. Here are my picks from the shops:
Sticking to longer, I like this dogtooth tweed, very stand out. Would look great with a red jumper underneath.
I hope you enjoyed this little selection of stylish boucle and tweed jackets. In my mind I’m Grace Kelly so this kind of helps me to achieve that pipe dream and stay on-trend too. It’s interesting how my style evolves as I get older - had yours too? Our perspective changes and I think we get clearer on the things we truly love. ❤️
